I am thankful to the Lord for calling me to SEMC here on Main Street in Steinbach. I count it a privilege to carry the responsibility for preaching regularly and working together with a wonderful ministry team. I spent most of my adult years (1986-2006) in Toronto. Initially I dabbled in theatre and film work before getting heavily involved in the business community. After several years of prayer and discussion I went to seminary at Tyndale, where I received my Master of Divinity. I am forever grateful to the Lord for my wife Kimberley, and our two wonderful daughters Raechell and Shantal. I have been a runner (off and on) for 35 years and also enjoy most water sports. I love jazz, sushi, and a good laugh.

I spent most of my childhood years in Steinbach and grew up in SEMC. After graduating from high school in 1990, I took a year off before going to Bible College. It was there that I met Carly and we were married in 1993. I graduated from Briercrest Bible College in 1996 with a BA in Youth and Family Ministry and have been serving in full time church ministry ever since. We have two boys, Tysen and Rylen. In addition to coaching the boys hockey teams, I enjoy drinking coffee and reading, listening to music - especially 80's rock! It's great being back in Steinbach and serving at SEMC in the role of Associate Pastor. I look forward to seeing and being a part of what God will do at SEMC in the years to come.

Jason Heide
Youth Pastor

I was born and raised in Winkler, MB. I have been married to my beautiful wife Paige since 2006 and we have two sons, Logan and Lucas. I love sports, specifically hockey, tennis and golf, playing board games and hanging out with friends. Before coming to Steinbach I spent a total of 9 summers serving at Winkler Bible Camp in various capacities, the final 2 and a half years full-time. In 2006 I graduated from Providence College with a B.A. in Church Ministries. Since 2008 I have enjoyed ministering to our Junior and Senior youth and College & Career. It has been a privilege to see our young people grow in their walks with our Lord Jesus.

Joel Jolly
Director of Worship Arts

I've lived most of my life in southern Manitoba, specifically Niverville and Otterburne. I'm a pastors son and some of my earliest memories are of singing hymns in church. Music has always been a part of my life. When I was young my dad traveled with a gospel band all across North America. I began participating in my church's music ministry when I was 14 years old and have been doing so ever since. Upon graduating from high school in Niverville I attended Providence University College, earning a bachelors degree in Music with minors in Worship Studies and Biblical and Theological Studies. I love playing golf and hockey, exploring the Winnipeg music scene, spending time with my parents and sister, choral music as well as playing in bands. I have a passion for congregational worship. I believe that we are at our best when we join together in worship of the Creator and I'm glad to be part of this worshiping community.

Cheryl Nickel
Administrative Assistant

I remember feeling a strong sense of God's love during my very first visit to SEMC 18 years ago. Over the years I have spent many hours here in the early mornings to pray. This has developed in me a strong love for our church, which is why I am very excited to be a part of the ministry at SEMC as administrative assistant. My husband Jared and I have primarily lived in the Steinbach area, although I was born in BC and grew up in Winnipeg. We have 2 teenage sons, and we are a family of artists. I enjoy painting and illustrating children's books and I have a degree in graphic design. In the past two years we have been blessed to expand our family to include four boys who are from, and live in Africa. It's amazing to me that they are also all artists! It has been a real blessing to get to know them, their families, and be a part of their lives though they are across the globe. After church here at SEMC, our family attends Shalom Christian Outreach on Sunday afternoons, which is an African church in Winnipeg. Since becoming part of such an awesome African community and expanding our family to include our loved ones who live in Africa, we are curious and excited about what the Lord has in store for us in the future!

Nordfried & Karoline Schulze

I (Nordfried) was born in 1978 in Venezuela. In 1987 my family moved to Paraguay where I married my wife Karoline. In 2002, my wife, our son and I moved to Germany where we were blessed with another son in 2003. In 2006 we decided to move to Canada. As we started our life here over the past years we became a part of SEMC. Today we thank God, that He gave us the opportunity to serve him as custodians at SEMC.

Our inspiration that we want to share with you is: We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
